SureShow: Solving the $16B No-Show Problem

This week, we at Beta Boom are highlighting Dr. Shelley Cooper and SureShow, who will be presenting at our upcoming Female Founders Summit on September 24th. More details below.

One in four medical appointments ends in a “no-show.” Financially, that’s a $16 billion loss annually to health clinics and hospitals not to mention the human and hidden costs associated with interrupted care as a result of missed appointments. SureShow is a patent-pending solution that replaces no-shows with billable telehealth visits resulting in better continuity of care as well as increased revenue for medical practices.

SureShow is led by Dr. Shelley Cooper and Dr. Moe Hamid. Dr. Cooper has more than five years of experience leading telehealth implementation projects through Diversity Telehealth—a consultancy that she founded—as well as more than 20 years of experience in technology implementation instruction. Her co-founder, Dr. Moe Hamid is an M.D.-turned-software-engineer. Dr. Hamid has more than 10 years of software engineering experience, particularly in the medical application space, and is the former CTO for FestPop.

In the age of Covid-19, telehealth adoption has increased by over 500% and is projected to continue to rise according to the CDC. SureShow addresses a huge whitespace in the telehealth landscape with a unique solution of seamlessly replacing no-show appointments with automatic telehealth visits. What’s more, SureShow’s patent-pending technology can be leveraged in other verticals that traditionally have relied on in-person appointments such as dentistry, veterinary services, and even law practices.
