HerHeadquarters: Enabling women-led small businesses to grow through partnerships

We at Beta Boom are thrilled to announce our recent investment in HerHeadquarters, which enables women-led small businesses to grow through partnerships with other small businesses and bigger brands nationwide!

There are over 11 million women-owned small businesses in the U.S. that generate $1.7 trillion in sales, according to the National Association of Women Business Owners. Moreover, women, particularly women of color, are starting businesses at a faster rate than their male counterparts.

It’s clear that women entrepreneurs are and will continue to be the growth engine driving the U.S. economy for decades to come. Yet, despite this huge and growing market, relatively few solutions exist to enable and empower women small business owners to succeed together.

HerHeadquarters specifically addresses the needs of women-led small businesses via an ecosystem and community that enables them to grow their customer base and revenue through strategic partnerships with other women-led small businesses and brands.

Imagine an up-and-coming fashion designer partnering with a beauty salon on a customer appreciation event that allows them to cross-promote their businesses and grow their complementary customer base. Imagine also that these small businesses hire a women-owned catering company and a female DJ for the event also exposing those small businesses to a new audience. This is what HerHeadquarters can do for small businesses and brands.

HerHeaduarters is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and is led by Carina Glover, who experienced the power of brand partnerships in her previous event production company – first through the dire consequences of not leveraging them and secondly by garnering growth through a partnership with the Grammy’s and the NFL Honors Awards. Carina is an alumna of the American Express “100 for 100” program for Black women entrepreneurs, has been awarded the Do Space Women Innovators Fellowship, and was recognized at the U.S. Congressional Startup Day as well as on the Forbes “The Next 1000” list. She is joined by Tim McCoy, who is heading engineering for HerHeaquarters, and Erica Pokorney, who leads Customer Success.

HerHeadquarters is already loved and used by thousands of small business owners and growing rapidly through word-of-mouth referrals. HerHeadquarters is also backed by Invest Nebraska and the Startup Collective. Beta Boom’s investment will enable HerHeadquarters to develop new features and user experience enhancements, and scale marketing channels. We’re also excited to have our growth team work alongside HerHeadquarters to evolve even faster through iterative product and marketing experimentation.

There couldn’t be a more perfect time for HerHeadquarters to be meeting the needs of women founders in such a pivotal moment in history.
